Cownt App Privacy Policy

1. Data Controller

The Data Controller of personal data for Users of the Cownt app is Piotr Miron, conducting business at: ul. Garbarska 24, 16-120 Krynki, Poland, NIP [Tax ID]: 5451817881.

2. Scope of Processed Data

When you use the App and related services, we may process the following data:

  • E-mail address — for account creation and communication purposes.
  • Device technical data — model, operating system (Android 10.0+ or iOS), app version, used for error diagnostics (Firebase Crashlytics).
  • Professional data entered by the User — ear tag numbers, ICAR diagnoses, notes, treatment results — stored exclusively on the User's account and inaccessible to third parties.
  • Transaction data — handled exclusively by Google Play or the App Store; the Data Controller does not directly process payment card data.

3. Purpose and Basis of Processing

Data is processed for the purpose of:

  • Providing the App's services (Basis: performance of a contract — Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • Error diagnostics and improving App stability — Firebase Crashlytics (Basis: legitimate interest of the data controller).
  • Website traffic analysis — Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager (Basis: User's consent).
  • Fulfilling legal obligations (Basis: Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

4. Cloud Sync

The Cloud Sync feature (data synchronization with the Firebase cloud) is entirely voluntary. The User decides when and whether to synchronize data with the servers. The App works fully offline without activating this feature.

Synchronized data is stored in the Google Firebase (Firestore) infrastructure in data centers located in the EU or USA, in accordance with the data processing agreement with Google LLC.

5. Firebase Crashlytics

The App uses Firebase Crashlytics — a service by Google LLC for automatically collecting error and crash reports. These reports contain anonymous technical device data and error information; they do not contain the User's personal data or professional data (ear tag numbers, diagnoses, etc.).

6. User Rights (GDPR)

The User has the following rights regarding the processing of personal data:

  • Right of access — to view the processed data.
  • Right to rectification — to correct inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure — to request the deletion of data (the "right to be forgotten").
  • Right to restriction of processing.
  • Right to data portability — to receive data in a commonly used format.
  • Right to object — against processing based on legitimate interest.

7. Cookies and Website Tracking

The cownt.app website uses cookies for traffic analysis (Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager). Data is anonymized and used exclusively for statistical purposes. You can opt out of tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out add-on or configuring your browser settings.

8. Data Security

User data is encrypted during transmission (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest within the Google Firebase infrastructure. The Firebase infrastructure complies with GDPR requirements and holds appropriate security certificates (ISO 27001, SOC 2/3).

9. Data Transfer outside the EEA

Data may be transferred to Google LLC servers located outside the European Economic Area (USA). The transfer takes place on the basis of standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

10. Data Retention Period

The User's professional data (diagnoses, treatment history) is stored for as long as the account remains active. After account deletion, data is removed from the servers within 90 days, unless the User requests earlier deletion.

11. Changes to the Privacy Policy

Users will be informed of significant changes to the privacy policy via the App or the email address provided during registration. Continued use of the App after changes have been introduced constitutes their acceptance.
