Data you can take out and put somewhere else.

A trimming record does not have to end in a PDF. Cownt exports in two formats the dairy industry already uses, and can pull a customer’s details straight from company registers in 26 countries.

Two industry formats

Both exports are available from the portal, for a single session or for a set of sessions from one farm. A report merged across several farms cannot be exported — animal identifiers belong to a specific holding.

ICAR ADE

Animal Data Exchange, the ICAR standard for moving animal data between systems. The payload is validated against the official schemas before download, so the file is either compliant or it is not produced.

DairyComp 305

Events written in a format DairyComp 305 accepts without retyping. In the other direction, Cownt reads a cow list exported from DC305 (FILEOUT), so events land under the numbers your own program uses rather than ours.

Customer details from a register, by tax number

You add a new farm in the app, type the tax number, and get the name and address straight from the official register. Fewer typos in the report and fewer corrections on the invoice.

Typing the details in by hand always works. Before you start searching, the app states what that particular register will not find — “not found” does not mean “does not exist”.

What these integrations do not do

  • In Germany and Spain, VIES only confirms that the number is valid — it will not return a name or address. The app says so before you start typing.
  • A holding that is not registered for VAT will not be found in the register. That is a limitation of the register, not of Cownt.
  • ICAR ADE and DairyComp 305 export work for one farm at a time. A report merged across several holdings can be read and printed, but not exported — animal numbers from different farms do not fit in one file without risking a mix-up.
  • There is no public API and there are no webhooks. Data moves as files, in formats your herd management program already knows.
